Two Weeks/A Few Thousand Years
For my Barrett Honors Thesis project, I explored the intersection of modern dance, a form that primarily originated in the West, and Chinese culture, which is steeped in a very long history of its own. The project encompassed research, writing, travel, choreography, and performance. The performance aspect of the project was primarily a reflection on the time I spent at the Beijing Dance Festival in Beijing, China, and it was presented in November of 2013 as part of the Undergraduate Project Presentations at Arizona State University's Margaret Gisolo Theatre.
